Road Construction

Trinity offers new road construction for both ranches and planned developments.

The three main types of road construction are base, chip seal, and asphalt.

Road base is the most common type of ranch road. It’s simple and cost-effective. This type of road is good for private roads with a limited amount of traffic. We prepare the surface for the correct grade and make sure all debris is removed from the area. The key to a good ranch road with base is subgrade preparation, proper compaction, and proper drainage like a culvert installation. We water and roll all of our ranch roads to ensure the best possible product.

Asphalt roads are the preferred method for a long-lasting product. It is a combination of aggregates, binders,  and fillers. Bitumen is a petroleum-based product and the most common binder used. The course grade asphalt for most roads is ¾’ and has more durable qualities. The materials are meticulously spread, combined, and compacted to create a finished product that will last for years.

Chip seal offers everything a base ranch road does and has a hot oil surface with evenly applied crushed gravel compacted and embedded into the hot oil. This method is great for ranches and developments that are looking for a smoother surface road and less dust. It’s more cost effective than a true asphalt road, but it still provides a clean and smooth driving surface.
